Willson Designs.

Hello, my name is Willson and I am a Product Designer from the San Francisco Bay Area. From the daily spoon we use to eat to the software that I am currently using to create this portfolio that you are currently viewing, design is everywhere. Whether it be big or small, I have always wanted to create a positive impact in the world.

Through design, I found that there was for sure a way to achieve that goal. At a young age, I have always seen myself as a creator, trying to make new inventions out of scrap that I find around the house. This seed at a young age brought me to choose my career as a product designer. After graduating high school, I attended San Jose State University to study Industrial Design. Due to unforeseen reasons, I decided to change majors to graphic design. In the program, I developed a better understanding of visual communication and became immersed in a whole different world that I never really knew existed. Through graphic design, I found great interest in visual design and discovered that becoming a product designer was still possible. Although it may not be with physical products, I can still change people’s lives through digital products and that is how my journey began.

Mindfulness has always been my core thought when designing especially for others. We live in a world with eight billion people and it is constantly growing. As time changes, people in all parts of the world are in need of different products to improve their lives. In this current digital age, many people are currently just discovering new digital technology and this will continue for many years to come. Being mindful of people’s thoughts and needs are important when creating because what is most important is the end user of the product.
